We are always looking for scientists at all career stages who are interested in the fundamental mechanisms underlying gene regulation and ubiquitin signaling. Our current focus is on the mechanisms by which histone post-translational modifications regulate transcription as well as other chromatin-mediated processes, and the mechanisms of cross-talk between ubiquitin, methylation, acetylation, and other histone PTMs. We also have a number of projects aimed at discovering novel drugs that target the enzymes in these pathways.

Postdoctoral fellows

We are interested in applicants with training in biochemistry, biophysics and/or structural biology (cryo EM, x-ray crystallography, NMR) and a record of accomplishment as reflected in journal publications or preprints. If you are interested in a postdoctoral position, please send an email with a statement of interest and CV to Cynthia Wolberger.

Graduate students

We welcome students from all eligible programs. The lab currently participates in the Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology (BCMB) program, the Program in Molecular Biophysics,  and the Chemistry-Biology Interface program.  If you are interested in a lab rotation, please contact Dr. Wolberger  after you have been admitted to a graduate program at Johns Hopkins.

Diversity and Inclusion

We actively seek to assemble a diverse research group based on respect, equity and inclusion and expect each lab member to help create an inclusive and collegial research group. We are committed to providing a supportive environment to all irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, socioeconomic status, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or immigration status.
